Satellite TV on just PC’s?

I have recently discovered that you can watch thousands of TV channels on your PC with systems like “TVtoPCDirect.com” or “SatelliteTVtoPC.com” without actually being robbed by a cable company. When checking these websites, it says that you can use any computer running Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000 or XP. Does this means it is not possible to use it in a Mac?

[UK only] How much of a delay is there between satellite TV ‘live’ coverage broadcasts and the actual event?

I ask this because I noticed that there is around a 3 second delay between live football on satellite (Sky) TV and simultaneous broadcasts on terrestrial TV.

And also, how ‘live’ are live broadcasts on terrestrial TV?
