I live in the Eastern US and want to see TV from Europe not on Dish or Direct TV. What satellite do I need?

January 14th, 2010 | 4 Comments | Posted in TVs
Please do not advise me to get DirectTV or Dish Network because I have had both and am no longer interested in their programming. The channels I am looking for are not available on these carriers. I am looking to view satellite TV from Spain, France and Italy and would like to know which satellite I have to buy to get it. The size and cost of the system is not important. I am also not so interested in online webtv. Thanks.

What type of HDMI cable do I need for a PS3 connected to a 50″ Philips plasma tv?

I want the best picture quality for both watching tv (Satellite with HD channels) and playing games on my PS3. I saw several types at Best Buy including adapters but was not sure which to buy. Also, do I need male-male or male-female? Is Monster really the best? I do not mind paying more if it is worth it.

Will it really make the difference to invest in a HDMI cable to run from my satellite tuner to my TV?

running satellite receiver and hd television

Where can I get the most bang for my buck with Satellite TV?

It looks like with Direct TV I would have to pay for so much stuff that I don’t want to get the things that we do want (sports in Hi-Def, and Filipino channels). Are there better deals out there or is Direct TV and Dish Network pretty much it? If I haven’t miss understood I would have to get one of Direct TVs middle programs to even get ESPN, what gives.

What’s the Cheapest Cable TV service currently being offered in NJ?

November 18th, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in TVs

Right now, we only get the local NYC channels through the rabbit ear antenna. Unfortunately, we can’t get anything in which you have to install an outdoor satellite because it goes against the lease rules. Are there any indoor cable TV satellite providers for NJ? I would think with all the technology out there, someone has invented an indoor satellite for cable by now. But maybe not?? I appreciate all friendly input.

is it possible to have satellite tv, if you live in a housing project?

Dish Network remote will not control satellite, only TV?

October 8th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in TVs

I ordered a new remote from Dish Network the other day for my second room because my first remote went to hell. When I got it I set it to my TV & it worked fine for that, but it will not do anything for the satellite. I tried new batteries & I even switched the little tab & tried it in the first room with the receiver & still no dice. I got a new remote for room 1 a couple of months ago & it worked as soon as I took it out of the box & put batteries in it.

Is there something special I have to do since this is a second room remote? Any suggestions?

Yes I did, thank you- I am not an idiot.
